Pursuing her professional development, Leslie studied at John Jay Salon in New Orleans and has traveled to New York and England to expand her creative ideas and styles. She is recently married to Chris Fountain and has one daughter, Caroline, who at 13 helps keep Mom current in stylist trends.
Leslie has been a Locks of Love volunteer and the event coordinator for the annual Locks of Love Cut-a-Thon since 2000. At her first Cut-a-Thon Leslie raised $1500.00, cut 200 heads, and had 2 football fields of donated hair. This was accomplished with only 9 hairdressers and 25 volunteers. Over the years, the Cut-a-Thon has grown to 30 hairdressers per hour and 40 volunteers!
Leslie’s efforts helped 12 local children and countless others throughout the U.S. An important part of the Cut-a-Thon is the raffle fundraiser to help with the medical bills for a Locks-of-Love recipient.
The Cut-a-Thon is held on the Second Sunday in August.
